Challenge: In 2009, Visa launched a global ad campaign built on the line, “More people go with Visa.” They came to AOL looking for fresh, new ways to support it online.
Solution: AOL Music and Visa teamed up to create the site Where It’s At – a pop culture treasure map which shows the locations of famous and infamous landmarks in entertainment history. A branded widget was added to indicate local hotspots near each landmark, and similarly branded ad placements encouraged relevant purchase.
Results: Where It’s At attracted over 500K UV from pop culture junkies every month during the campaign’s flight.
